Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Saturday has given a clear indication of turning this dream into reality.
While virtually flagging off several trains from Bhavnagar, the Railway Minister said that India’s first bullet train will start very soon. He informed that the work on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project is going on at a fast pace and the start of its operation is not far away.
What will be special in the bullet train?
The country’s first bullet train will cover a distance of 508 km, starting from Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) and connecting Gujarat’s Valsad, Surat, Vadodara, Anand and Ahmedabad. The maximum speed of this train will be 320 km per hour. The journey from Mumbai to Ahmedabad will be completed in just 2 hours and 7 minutes, which is three times faster than today’s train journey. Let us tell you that this bullet train is being built in collaboration between India and Japan and Japanese technology “Shinkansen” is being used in it.

What did the Railway Minister say?
Along with the announcement of the bullet train, the Railway Minister also gave information about other rail projects being done in Gujarat and across the country. He said that a new train will be started between Porbandar-Rajkot in Gujarat. Coach maintenance facility will be built in Porbandar at a cost of ₹ 135 crore. He said that a new container terminal and two Gati Shakti cargo terminals are also being built in Bhavnagar.
Discussion on Vande Bharat, Amrit Bharat and Namo Bharat
Ashwini Vaishnav said that so far 8 Amrit Bharat trains have been run. These trains are equipped with facilities like Vande Bharat, but the fare is less. Passengers are very excited about these trains. Also, work is going on on many new routes regarding Namo Bharat and Vande Bharat Express.
