Budget 2024 Speech LIVE: Standard deduction limit increased for salaried people

Budget 2024 Speech LIVE: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that those who are taking the new tax regime. The standard deduction has been increased from Rs 50,000 to Rs 75,000. In the case of family pension also, the deduction figure for pensioners has been increased from Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000. The government says that this will benefit 4 crore salaried people and pensioners.
