Bima Sakhi Yojana: This is a government scheme, which has been launched to make women financially strong, especially in rural and unorganized sectors. Under this scheme, women work to provide insurance-related services to people and in return, the government gives them a fixed income of up to ₹ 7000 every month.

Along with women empowerment, this scheme also gives them the opportunity for self-employment. Women become Bima Sakhi and go from village to village to inform people about insurance schemes, enroll them in the scheme and in return, they get a monthly allowance. The application process for this scheme has started and women can apply online or through CSC centers.

If you are a woman and want an opportunity to earn money from home, then India’s Jeevan Bima Sakhi Yojana (LIC) could be a great opportunity for you. Under this scheme, women are trained to become LIC agents and get an allowance of up to Rs 7,000 every month. The government has set a target of making 1 lakh Bima Sakhis annually.

What is Bima Sakhi Yojana?

This scheme has been launched by the Central Government and LIC to make women self-reliant. In this, women are trained to become insurance agents and after training they can work as LIC agents in their village or area.

How much scholarship will I receive?

A stipend of ₹ 5,000 to ₹ 7,000 is given every month during the training. If the woman becomes an LIC agent after completing the training, commission and incentives are also available. Under this scheme, women can earn a commission of up to ₹ 48,000 in the first year itself. That is, earnings start along with training.

If you want a scholarship for three consecutive years under this scheme, then at least 65% of the total policies activated in the first year must remain active in the next year.

Who can apply for this scheme?

Only women can apply.

Their age should be between 18 and 70 years.

Any 10th pass female can apply.
