Big news for SBI customers, now service charge will have to be paid for these facilities from July 1

There is big news for State Bank of India (SBI) customers. The bank is going to change the service charge from July 1. Now there will be a fee for withdrawing money from ATM, check book, branch. However, the new rule will be applicable only to Basic Savings Account Holder (BSBD). Let us know how much money SBI will charge in the name of which service –


There will be a fee for withdrawing money from SBI branch more than 4 times

If the customers of the bank withdraw money from the bank more than 4 times in a month, then the bank will levy additional charges from them. Bank ATMs are also included in this transaction. In simple language, if you withdraw money from SBI branch or ATM more than four times in a month, then you will have to pay a fee of Rs 15 plus GST on it. This charge will be applicable on each additional transaction. This rule is also applicable to non-SBI branches.

There will also be a fee for withdrawing money from ATM

BSBD customers will have to pay a service charge if they withdraw more than four times from SBI ATMs and non-SBI ATMs. In the name of service charge, the bank will have to pay Rs 15 plus GST charge.

Will have to pay more money for the check book too

State Bank of India does not charge BSBD account holders for 10 checkbooks. But after 10 Rs 40 plus GST will be charged. At the same time, a check book with 25 checks will be charged Rs 75. Whereas emergency check book will have to be paid by adding Rs 50 and GST charge. Senior citizens will not have to pay any money for these facilities.

What is SBI BSBD Account?

BSBD is simply called zero balance account. There are many benefits of this savings account. In this account, the customer gets the same interest as SBI’s savings account, but at the same time, customers get many such special facilities in this account, which are not available to the normal savings account holders. In this account, the customer gets many facilities including exemption from minimum balance, free ATM and debit cards and exemption from maximum balance limit.

SBI BSBD account can be opened through SBI Net Banking or SBI Online services by fulfilling SBI KYC requirements. Anyone who has valid KYC documents can open this account. This account can be opened on individual, joint, or successor basis. According to the website of State Bank of India, at present, interest is being given at the rate of 2.75 percent per annum on Basic Savings Bank Deposit Account.
