Indian Railways has announced a great offer through which you can avail huge discounts while booking train tickets during the festival. This scheme is starting from 14th August and will be applicable from Diwali to Chhath.
Railway festive offer Get 20% Discount Ticket Booking
During the festive season, a lot of people travel by Indian Railways till Diwali or Chhath. Due to this, the lines at railway stations become long and there is a problem in booking tickets. To save the passengers from inconvenience and stress, the Indian Railway Ministry has launched a new scheme: “Round Trip Package for Festival Rush”. This scheme gives passengers a discount of 20% on return tickets, when you book both the tickets for the round trip. Know the details of this offer:
How long is the 20% discount available?
Booking under this offer will start from August 14, 2025. The onward journey should be between 13 to 26 October 2025, while the return journey is scheduled between 17 November to 1 December 2025. The discount on return tickets is available only on the base fare and this scheme is specially designed for festive travelers.
Objective and benefit of the scheme
This special scheme has been started keeping in mind the needs of passengers during the festive season. Its purpose is to ensure seats for passengers during the rush hours of back and forth, reduce expenses, and increase two-way use of train services. Also, special trains can be used in a better way.
This much discount on booking train tickets
Only 20% discount on base fare will be given on return tickets. Tickets must be of same class, train, passenger details and route in both legs.
Terms and conditions of this offer
No refunds, amendments or other discounts (such as passes, vouchers, concessions) will be applicable on tickets. Booking must be done either online or over the counter, and return tickets must also be booked through the same mode. This offer is not applicable on flexi-fare train models (such as Rajdhani, Shatabdi etc.).
What will be the effect of discount on train tickets
This scheme gives passengers the opportunity to travel during the festivals at a low cost. This will reduce the crowd at the station and balance the blockbuster train load. Passengers will be assured of getting both onward and return tickets, thus eliminating last minute stress.
Booking Process
Login to the reservation platform (IRCTC or station counter) from August 14. First choose the onward ticket through the “Connecting Journey” option. Choose the return ticket with the same mode and details only then the scheme is applicable. Once the confirmation and journey is confirmed, the 20% discount on the return fare will be automatically applied.
