A major attack was foiled at Bengaluru Airport, one of India’s major airports. A suspected attacker suddenly ran with a knife.
The attacker, armed with a knife, chased two taxi drivers, intending to attack them. Terrified, the taxi drivers fled for their lives. Meanwhile, a CISF personnel deployed at the scene became alert and apprehended the attacker. This averted a major incident at Bengaluru Airport.
How was the accident averted?
The entire incident occurred near the arrival gate at Terminal 1 of Bengaluru Airport, one of the country’s busiest airports. A CISF personnel deployed for security was alerted at the time of the incident. CISF ASI Sunil immediately sprang into action, grabbing the knife-wielding attacker from behind and subduing him. The entire knife attack was captured on CCTV.

What was found out about the accused?
The attacker who carried out the open stabbing at the airport is said to be named Suhail. The incident occurred after midnight on November 16th. Security forces have been alerted following this attack. Suhail has been detained and questioned. During initial questioning, Suhail admitted to carrying out the attack due to an old rivalry. Airport security has handed over all those involved to the police.

CISF’s timely intervention averted a major crime at Bengaluru Airport. Around midnight on November 16, a man armed with a knife attacked two taxi drivers in the T1 arrivals area. ASI/Exe Sunil Kumar and team acted swiftly, subduing the attacker and recovering the knife, without causing any harm to passengers or staff. The accused and all those involved were immediately handed over to KIA police for further legal action. Preliminary investigations indicate that this act was in retaliation for an earlier altercation. CISF remains committed to the safety of passengers, airport personnel, and critical aviation infrastructure.”
