Banks will remain closed for a total of 15 days in August
According to the list of bank holidays available on the RBI website, banks are going to remain closed for a total of 15 days in different zones across the country in the month of August. Bank holidays in India are decided by the holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India. Bank holidays are according to the zone. There are zones ranging from one to 3-4 in every state. In the zones where there is a holiday, all the banks in that area remain closed on that day.

- 3 August 2025: Banks will remain closed across the country on this day due to Sunday.
- 8 August 2025: Banks will remain closed in Sikkim and Odisha on this day due to Tendong Lo Ram Phat.
- 9 August 2025: Banks will remain closed across the country on this day due to second Saturday and Rakhi.
- 10 August 2025: Banks will remain closed across the country on this day due to Sunday.
- 13 August 2025: Banks will remain closed in Manipur on this day due to Patriot’s Day.
- 15 August 2025: Banks will remain closed across the country on this day due to Independence Day.
- 16 August 2025: Banks will remain closed in Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Gangtok, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Lucknow, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Srinagar and Vijayawada zones on this day due to Janmashtami.
- 17 August 2025: Banks will remain closed across the country on this day due to Sunday.
- 19 August 2025: Banks will remain closed in Agartala on the birthday of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur.
- 23 August 2025: Banks will remain closed on this day due to second Saturday.
- 24 August 2025: Banks will remain closed across the country on this day due to Sunday.
- 25 August 2025: Banks will remain closed in Guwahati zone on this day due to the disappearance date of Srimanta Shankardev.
- 27 August 2025: Banks will remain closed in Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Nagpur, Goa and Vijayawada zones on this day due to Ganesh Chaturthi.
