Bank Holiday in August 2025: In August 2025, government and private banks across the country will remain closed for 15 days. These 15 days of holidays include weekly holidays and holidays due to festivals. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has prepared a list of annual holidays with the state governments.

These 15 days of holidays include weekly holidays and holidays due to festivals. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has prepared a list of annual holidays with the state governments. This list has been released on the official website of RBI. All banks are closed every Sunday and on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. Apart from this, some states also observe holidays. These holidays are only in that state. However, during bank holidays, customers can transact through digital services like net banking, mobile banking, UPI and ATM.

List of Bank Holidays in August 2025

  • August 8 (Friday) – Tendong Lho Rum Phat
  • August 9 (Saturday) – Raksha Bandhan / Jhulan Purnima
  • Holiday: Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Dehradun, Jaipur, Kanpur, Lucknow, Shimla, Bhubaneshwar
  • August 13 (Wednesday) – Patriots Day

Holiday: Imphal

August 15 (Friday) – Independence Day / Parsi New Year / Janmashtami

National Holiday: All banks closed across the country

August 16 (Saturday) – Janmashtami / Krishna Jayanti

Holiday: Aizawl, Chennai, Hyderabad, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Vijayawada, Gangtok, Chandigarh, Jammu, Srinagar
