Bank closed tomorrow: Banks will remain closed on Wednesday, find out why RBI has declared a holiday

Bank Holiday: Banks will be closed in most states across the country on Wednesday. All government, private, and rural bank branches will remain closed on November 5th. Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s birth anniversary and Kartik Purnima will be celebrated on this day.

According to the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) holiday list, banks will be closed in many states on this day. Only online banking and ATM services will remain operational as usual.

Banks will remain closed on Wednesday, November 5

Guru Nanak Jayanti is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first Guru of Sikhism. States like Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand will observe a special festive atmosphere on this occasion. Kartik Purnima, also considered highly auspicious, is a religious festival, leading to holidays in other states across the country.

List of Bank Holidays for November 2025

November 1 (Saturday): Karnataka Rajyotsava / Igas-Bagwal

Karnataka will be celebrating State Festival Day (Kannada Rajyotsava) today, so banks will remain closed there. Uttarakhand will also celebrate the Igas-Bagwal festival, also known as Diwali of the Gods, on the same day. Banks will also remain closed there.

November 5 (Wednesday): Guru Nanak Jayanti / Kartik Purnima

Banks will be closed in many states across the country on this day. This day marks the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Kartik Purnima. Banks will be closed in many places, including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, and Jammu and Kashmir.

November 7 (Friday): Wangala Festival (Meghalaya)

The Wangala Festival, a harvest festival celebrated by the Garo tribe, will be held in Meghalaya. Banks will be closed there, but banks will remain open in other states.

November 8 (Saturday): Kanakadasa Jayanti (Karnataka)

This day is a second Saturday, so banks will be closed across the country. In Karnataka, this day also marks the birth anniversary of saint and poet Kanakadasa.

November 11 (Tuesday): Lhabab Duchen (Sikkim)

In Sikkim, the Lhabab Duchen festival, a significant Buddhist holiday, will be celebrated on this day. Banks will be closed for the occasion.

November Weekly Off

This month banks will remain closed every Sunday and scheduled Saturday.

November 2 (Sunday), November 8 (second Saturday), November 9 (Sunday),

November 16 (Sunday), November 22 (fourth Saturday),

23 November (Sunday) and 30 November (Sunday).

Online services will continue

All digital services, such as ATMs, net banking, mobile banking, and UPI, will continue to operate as usual during the holidays. So, if you need to visit a branch for any important banking work, please consult this list of holidays before visiting.
