Bank Account Holders Alert: Very special news has come out for bank account holders. If you also have an account in the bank, then soon you too can get a notice. Actually, RBI has given strict instructions to banks and financial institutions to ask their customers to update KYC from time to time. Banks should send clear and phased notices to their customers to update KYC. It is being told that this step has been taken with the aim of providing better facilities to the customers and making the KYC process easy and transparent.

This is the new rule

  • Banks and financial institutions will now send at least 3 advance notices before the due date of KYC.
  • One of these notices will necessarily be through letter.
  • If the account holder does not update KYC on time, the bank will also send 3 reminder notices.

Let us tell you that this rule will have the greatest impact on those account holders whose accounts opened under programs like Jan Dhan Yojana, DBT / EBT scheme and whose KYC update is pending. Along with this, all the banks will keep all these notices as their records. If there is no change in the KYC information of the customers or only the address has changed, then he himself can update it through declaration with the help of bank BC. Apart from this, let us also tell you that the last date for KYC is till 30 June 2026 or within the next one year.
