Ban on Firecrackers: Government has imposed a ban in 8 districts of this state, if you do not obey then you will be jailed

After the order of the Supreme Court, the Uttar Pradesh government has taken a big decision regarding firecrackers. The manufacture, storage and sale of firecrackers has been completely banned in Delhi-NCR and its surrounding eight districts.

The UP Police has issued a warning of strict action against those who violate the order.

Restrictions imposed in these 8 districts

As per the order issued by the UP police, the ban will be applicable in these districts:

➤ Meerut

➤ Ghaziabad

➤ Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida)

➤ Bulandshahr

➤ Hapur

➤ Baghpat

➤ Shamli

➤ Muzaffarnagar

This decision has been taken following the Supreme Court’s instructions to control pollution during Diwali.

Violation will result in jail and fine

Strict action will be taken against those found violating this order. They can be fined up to Rs 1 lakh and sentenced to jail for up to 5 years. This action will be taken under Section 15 of the Environment (Protection) Act 1986.

The police have appealed to the people to immediately report if they see anyone violating this order. Several options have been provided to complain:

➤ Dial 112.

➤ Send message on WhatsApp to number 7570000100.

➤ Send information via SMS to 7233000100.

Complaints can also be made on the social media accounts of UP Police such as X (@112UttarPradesh) and Facebook (@112UttarPradesh). Apart from this, complaints can also be lodged on the website of Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board.
