Ayushman Vay Vandana Scheme: If you are 70 years of age or above, then there is good news for you. The Government of India runs a special scheme ‘Ayushman Vay Vandana Yojana’ for the elderly. This scheme was launched on 29 October 2024. Under this, every senior citizen gets free cashless treatment up to ₹ 5 lakh. The best thing about this scheme is that this benefit is completely free, there is no hassle of depositing any premium or filling any form for this. Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card: A boon for 70+ elderly people!

Ayushman Vay Vandana Card is specially designed for persons aged 70 years and above. The biggest feature of this card is that the elderly do not need to provide any information about their income or financial status to get it made. No matter which class they belong to, if their age is more than 70 years, they can easily avail the benefits of this scheme.

This card is valid in more than 30,000 hospitals across the country, including more than 13,000 private hospitals. In these hospitals, 1,961 different types of diseases and other health-related procedures can be treated completely free of cost. At an older age, the elderly often face problems like heart surgery, knee or hip pain, cataract, etc. Treatment of all these is possible without any charge through this card.

What are the benefits of this scheme?

  • Covers more than 2,000 treatments and surgeries including dialysis, cancer, heart disease, ICU, orthopedics.
  • Treatment begins on day one – no waiting period.

  • There is no caste, religion or income limit, just age must be 70+.

How to register for this scheme?

  • Open beneficiary.nha.gov.in website or Ayushman Bharat app.
  • Enter the mobile number linked with Aadhaar and login with OTP.
  • Click on ‘Senior Citizen 70+ Enrolment’.
  • Enter Aadhaar number, do e-KYC with OTP or Biometric.
  • Fill your photo and required information(State, District, Caste etc.).
  • Submit the form and download the digital card in PDF in 15-20 minutes.

How to make a card from Ayushman app

  • Download the Ayushman app and open it.
  • In the app, you will get the option to login as ‘Beneficiary’ or ‘Operator’. Login as a beneficiary. After this, you will have to enter a captcha code and your mobile number. Login by entering the OTP.
  • Now you have to enter your state and Aadhaar number. If your name is not found in the system, then you will have to complete the e-KYC process.
  • For this, you will have to give your consent through OTP. Then, a declaration form will have to be filled. After this, the beneficiary’s mobile number and the OTP received on it will have to be entered.
  • Then you have to provide information like your category (eg General, OBC, SC/ST) and PIN code. If any other member in the family is also above 70 years of age, then their information can also be added.
  • After filling all the information, submit the form. After the e-KYC process is completed and approval is received, you can download the Ayushman Vaya Vandana card.

You can get information about your nearest panel hospital by visiting the website https://hospitals.pmjay.gov.in. There you can search by state, district or pincode to see which government and private hospitals are included in this scheme.
