Amarnath Yatra 2020: Sitting at home from tomorrow, darshan of Baba Barfani, Aarti will be broadcast live on Doordarshan in the morning and evening.

Jammu, Satnam Singh: Get  ready to have a darshan of Baba Barfani, seated in the holy cave of Shri Amarnath amidst the echoes of Har-Har Mahadev’s chanting, chanting and bells. Divya Aarti is going to start in the morning and evening in the holy cave from July 5, Sunday, which will be telecast on Doordarshan for the first time. Devotees will be able to have a glimpse of the holy Himling at home. It will be broadcast live on Delhi Doordarshan at 6 am and 7 pm. Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board has managed with Doordarshan. Amidst the challenges of Corona, the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board has not yet announced the date for starting the journey, but the administration has stepped up preparations.

Every year, Mahant Dependra Giri Ji Maharaj of Dashnami Akhara in Srinagar, who will lead the stick Mubarak, will offer prayers on Vyas Purnima on July 5 on the banks of the river Lidder. Due to the lockdown, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board has performed first puja at Jammu office. Earlier this puja was done in Chandanwadi. The pooja held at the board office in Jammu was attended by the officials of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board Chief Executive Bipul Pathak, Shri Amarnath and Baba Budha Amarnath Yatri Nyas Trust.

Finalized arrangements at the Holy Cave: The  yatra was to begin on June 23, 2020. Advance registration was to be done from April 1. In view of the situation arising out of the corona and the lockdown, the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board postponed the advance registration by not starting the yatra. Preparations are on to start the journey, but there is confusion about when to begin. The administration is making regular arrangements at the behest of the board. The arrangements at the holy cave of Shri Amarnathji have been finalized. The work of snow removal on the travel routes continues rapidly. The yatra will conclude on August 3, the day of Rakshabandhan. The meeting of the Shrine Board is scheduled to be held on July 6, in which the date of commencement of the journey, the status will be clarified on registration.



CRPF and Police ready: The security of the Yatra is vested with the CRPF, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Administration. CRPF Special Director General Zulfikar Hasan has said that all steps are being taken to make the Baba Amarnath Yatra safe. He is waiting for the decision of the Jammu and Kashmir administration. We are fully prepared to make the journey safe. On the other hand, the services of six officers of Jammu and Kashmir Police have been handed over to Shri Amnathji Shrine Board. These officers will be deployed in the camps scheduled for the visit.

Corona test of every devotee: The corona test will be for every devotee who comes for the journey. There will be an attempt to bring the test report soon. It is being considered that only devotees under 55 years of age should be allowed to travel. Special arrangements will be made to make the corona test of the devotees. Apart from Lakhanpur, the gateway to Jammu and Kashmir, it was not decided where the quarantine test would be made. How will the passengers reach from outside and will the trains of devotees be allowed to come or will they be brought forward by the Jammu and Kashmir road transport buses. A decision has not been taken on booking the helicopter.

Yatra can start from 21: According to information from sources, the yatra will start from July 21 and will run till August 3. Online registration can be arranged. Arrangements will be made to send a limited number of devotees. Pawan Kohli, head of Baba Amarnath and Baba Budda Amarnath Yatri Nyas, says that the yatra should not be postponed. The journey may be short, but it must be done.
