Noida International Airport is in the final stages of construction, finalizing preparations ahead of its launch. Significantly, the airport is implementing “Digi Yatra,” a platform for its entire operations, where everything from entry to boarding will be based on facial recognition.
Traveling through Jewar Airport is about to become a great experience for air travelers. No more needing to repeatedly show boarding passes, stand in long lines, or worry about showing ID. The country’s newest and most modern Noida International Airport (Jewar Airport) is making this convenience the foundation of its entire operation. It’s introducing advanced technology that will ensure entry through facial recognition. Now, your face will be your entry pass. This innovative feature, dubbed “Digi Yatra,” will make the entire airport process paperless.
Noida airport is going to be hi-tech
The Noida Airport, being built in Jewar, is now in its final stages. Interior finishing work is progressing rapidly. This airport isn’t just a building; it’s being built with a Digital-1 approach. This simply means that this airport will provide passengers with a seamless, fast, and modern travel experience. Swiss technology is being used throughout this digital operation, meaning the technology will be absolutely world-class.
This is how Digi Yatra will work
If you’re planning to travel through Noida Airport, you just need to do a simple task. After downloading the app, you’ll need to update your essential information, specifically your Aadhaar card details and flight ticket booking information. Once you arrive at the airport, you won’t need to repeatedly show your ticket or ID to any staff member, as a special machine installed at the entry gate will scan your face and instantly recognize you. This machine uses “face recognition” technology, allowing for seamless and quick check-in, from security checkpoints to boarding gates.
This facility is already available at some major airports like Delhi , Bengaluru, Varanasi, Ranchi, Patna and Mumbai, but at Noida Airport it is being made the basis of the entire airport operations.
Digital as well as convenience is great
Noida Airport isn’t just simplifying entry, it’s also making the entire system smart. Here, you’ll find state-of-the-art machines for depositing your bags (self-bag drop) and boarding the plane (self-boarding gates). This will significantly reduce waiting times and expedite the process. Furthermore, all airport gates will be equipped with “Digi Yatra,” making travel faster, safer, and paperless at every step. Furthermore, 10 aerobridges have been built to transport passengers directly from the terminal building to the aircraft. This large number of aerobridges will ensure that passengers won’t face congestion even when multiple flights arrive simultaneously.
Not just passengers, cargo will also be smart
The benefits of this major digital transformation won’t be limited to air travelers. Airport operations, such as cargo operations, logistics, and airport management, will also become smart. This initiative will put India among the few countries where the entire airport experience will be completely digital.
Full attention to safety and hygiene
Before the Noida Airport’s imminent opening, a major emphasis is being placed on cleaning, beautifying, and improving passenger amenities throughout the complex. Security has been given top priority. To this end, two new police stations are being built in the airport area, and security is being further strengthened throughout the area. Furthermore, road and connectivity work is in its final stages to ensure passengers have no difficulty reaching the airport.
