Nepal Violence: Amidst massive protests and violence against corruption in Nepal, President Ramchandra Paudel, Prime Minister KP Oli and many other big leaders have resigned from their posts.
In view of the current situation in Nepal’s capital Kathmandu, the airport has been closed for operations. India’s largest airline Indigo has suspended all its flights to and from Kathmandu. The company has said that if this affects the travel of any passenger, they can go to Indigo’s website and choose an alternative flight or claim a refund.
IndiGo issued an official statement for passengers
IndiGo said in a statement, “We are closely monitoring the developments and are in talks with local authorities to resume operations as soon as possible. Customers are advised to keep watching our official channels for the latest advice and updates. We look forward to the resumption of normal operations and are deeply grateful for your patience and understanding. ” Apart from IndiGo, Tata Group airline Air India canceled 4 flights flying between Delhi and Kathmandu on Tuesday amid anti-government protests in Nepal.
Air India canceled 4 flights to Kathmandu
IndiGo and Nepal Airlines cancelled their flights after Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International airport was temporarily closed on Tuesday. Air India said in a statement, “In view of the current situation in Kathmandu, flights AI 2231/2232, AI 2219/2220, AI 217/218 and AI 211/212 on Delhi-Kathmandu-Delhi route have been cancelled for today (Tuesday). An Air India flight returned to Delhi on Tuesday after smoke was seen coming out of the premises upon reaching Kathmandu airport, a source said.
