Nvidia revealed a massive expansion into the Indian market Wednesday during Day 3 of the AI Impact Summit 2026. The US-based chip giant announced high-stakes partnerships to deploy its latest Blackwell GPU architecture across India’s growing data center network.
The announcement at Bharat Mandapam serves as a strategic counter-move following the “unforeseen” absence of CEO Jensen Huang from the summit. By embedding its Blackwell Ultra GPUs into local cloud providers like Yotta and E2E Networks, Nvidia aims to solidify its dominance over India’s “Intelligence Manufacturing” infrastructure.

The Blackwell GPU Influx: Yotta and E2E Networks
Indian cloud provider Yotta will add over 20,000 Nvidia Blackwell Ultra GPUs to its clusters in Navi Mumbai and Greater Noida. Therefore, AI developers in India will soon have access to high-bandwidth cloud services on a pay-per-use model. This scale is intended to make model training affordable for both startups and the public sector.
Meanwhile, E2E Networks is deploying an Nvidia Blackwell cluster on its TIR platform, hosted at the L&T Vyoma data center in Chennai. This deployment includes the Nvidia GX B200 systems. It also provides Indian researchers with native access to the Nemotron series of open-weight AI models and Nvidia’s enterprise software suite.
NPCI’s “Fimi”: Revolutionizing Banking Support
The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) made a significant announcement regarding its AI roadmap. NPCI will use Nvidia’s Nemotron 3 Nano and the Nemo framework to build “Fimi,” a specialized financial AI model. Fimi is designed to provide multilingual customer service for the entire Indian banking ecosystem.
Next, the model will be fine-tuned using localized financial datasets to handle complex banking queries in multiple Indic languages. In fact, this is the first major instance of a national payments body utilizing Nvidia Grace-Blackwell architecture to power consumer-facing financial services.

Strengthening the Indian AI Stack: From BharatGen to Zoho
Nvidia highlighted a diverse list of Indian LLM developers already integrated into its ecosystem. This includes the IIT Bombay-led BharatGen, Sarvam.ai, and Zoho. These organizations are using Nvidia’s Nemo Curator and speech models for various stages of pre-training and fine-tuning.
Furthermore, Netweb Technologies is launching its Tyrone Camarero AI Supercomputing systems. These units combine four Blackwell GPUs with two Nvidia Grace CPUs. This “Grace-Blackwell” symmetry is specifically designed for high-scale inference and scientific computing, ensuring that India’s AI manufacturing remains sovereign and locally hosted.
Reality Check
Nvidia markets this GPU influx as a “democratization” of AI in India. Still, the 20,000 GPUs going to Yotta represent a fraction of the global demand, which remains bottlenecked. Therefore, “affordable” pay-per-use access may still be subject to high wait times and “preferred customer” tiers. In fact, while the software is “open-weight,” the hardware remains a high-cost proprietary lock-in.
The Loopholes
The NPCI’s “Fimi” model will be trained on “datasets” to support banking. In fact, the privacy guardrails for using sensitive financial transaction data to train a multilingual LLM have not been fully disclosed. Therefore, the “financial AI” loophole regarding data anonymization remains a concern for privacy advocates. Still, the use of Nemotron 3 Nano (a smaller, more efficient model) suggests NPCI is prioritizing data security and localized processing.
