Aadhaar Update Rate List: If you update your address or other documents in your Aadhaar online (MyAadhaar portal), then this service is free till June 14, 2026.

However, if you get the same update done at an Aadhaar Seva Kendra, then where earlier you had to pay Rs 50, now you will have to pay Rs 75.

Updating information such as name, address, or photo on your Aadhaar card has now become more expensive. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has revised the charges associated with Aadhaar updates.

Now, any changes to your Aadhaar card will incur an additional fee of 15 to 25 rupees. The new rules came into effect on October 1, 2025, and will remain in effect until September 30, 2028. Following this, the UIDAI has also set new rates for the next phase, from October 1, 2028, to September 30, 2031.

Which services became expensive?

Services that previously cost ₹50 have now been increased to ₹75. These services include updating information such as name, address, mobile number, and date of birth. Updating fingerprints, iris, or photos previously cost ₹100, but now cost ₹125.

Similarly, a service that cost ₹75 will now cost ₹90, while a service that cost ₹125 will cost ₹150 in the second phase, from October 1, 2028, to September 30, 2031. However, there will be no fee for making a new Aadhaar card; it will remain free as before.

Relief for children and adolescents

UIDAI has also provided relief to children and adolescents. A one-time biometric update for children/adolescents aged five to seven and 15 to 17 years will be free. Furthermore, the biometric update fee for children aged seven to 15 years has been waived until September 30, 2026.

This step is designed to encourage timely updates. However, if a person wishes to update their biometric information at a different age, they will have to pay a fee.

700 rupees charge for home service

The UIDAI has also set a fee for home Aadhaar services. For a home Aadhaar update, a fee of ₹700 (including GST) will be charged.

If additional people in the same household wish to avail the service, a charge of Rs 350 will be levied for each additional person. This fee will be separate from the normal fees for demographic and biometric updates.

Online updates are cheaper, color prints are more expensive.

If you update your address or other documents in your Aadhaar online (through the MyAadhaar portal), this service is free until June 14, 2026. However, if you get the same update done at an Aadhaar service center, you will have to pay Rs 75, up from Rs 50 previously.

If you want to obtain a color copy of your Aadhaar or eKYC, you will now have to pay for it as well. The fee has been fixed at ₹40 (2025-2028) and ₹50 (2028-2031).
