Aadhaar update charges: Aadhaar is an essential identification card for every Indian citizen. It is required for everything from opening a bank account to availing benefits of many important government schemes. Getting an Aadhaar for the first time is free.
However, if you want to change your photo, fingerprint, iris, or address, a fee is charged. Effective October 1, 2025, UIDAI has made some changes to these fees, making updating your Aadhaar more expensive.

Note: UIDAI has clarified that biometric updates will always be free for children aged 5-7 and 15-17. Furthermore, for children aged 7-15, this feature will remain free until September 30, 2026.
