How to take an online appointment?

By visiting the UIDAI website, you can book an appointment from myAadhaar.uidai.gov.in, so that time can be saved in the center.

Biometric verification is necessary

By going to the center, you have to get biometric verification, fingerprint or iris scan done, only then the mobile number will be updated.

What is the fee for updating the mobile number?

UIDAI charges Rs 50 for mobile number update. This fee is non-refundable. This fee has to be paid at the center itself.

Why is OTP not required?

Since the update process is not online and is done through biometrics, OTP is not required.

How to check status?

After the update, you will get a URN (Update Request Number). With its help, you can check the status online by visiting myAadhaar.uidai.gov.in.

Cannot cancel the request

Once the request is submitted, you cannot cancel it online. If you make a mistake, you will have to go to the center again and fill a new form.

Why is mobile number update necessary?

Only with the mobile number linked to Aadhaar, you can avail OTP based services like bank verification, income tax filing, e-KYC and government schemes.
