You can change information like your name, address, date of birth, or mobile number online from the comfort of your home. This feature has been introduced to make Aadhaar easier and more secure. There will be no need to go to the Aadhaar center
The first major change is the need to update your Aadhaar information. Previously, you had to visit an Aadhaar center, but now you can update everything online from home. The information you provide, such as your name or address, will be included in government documents like your PAN, passport, or other documents. Driving License Or it will be automatically verified against your ration card. This will make the update process faster, easier, and safer.
This much fee will be charged for the update
Previously, visiting a center required a long wait, but now this process can be completed in a few minutes. The update fee at Aadhaar centers has also changed. It costs ₹75 to change your name, address, or mobile number. If you need to update your fingerprint, eye scan, or photo, you’ll have to pay ₹125.
Biometric updates are free for children ages 5 to 7 and 15 to 17. Online document updates are free until June 14, 2026, but at the center, it will cost ₹75. The fee for printing an Aadhaar card is ₹40. If you prefer home enrollment, it will cost ₹700 for the first person and ₹350 for each additional person at the same address.
Aadhaar-PAN linking is mandatory by December 31, 2025
Another change is Aadhaar-PAN linking. Now, every PAN holder must link their PAN with Aadhaar by December 31, 2025. If they fail to do so, their PAN card will become inactive from January 1, 2026, meaning they will no longer be able to use it. Those applying for a new PAN card will also be required to undergo Aadhaar verification. Furthermore, the KYC process for banks and other financial institutions has been simplified. KYC will now be performed using Aadhaar OTP, video KYC, or face-to-face verification. This is all paperless and fast.
