The month of August is going to be good for Central Government employees. There can be an increase in many allowances like DA arrears, increase in dearness allowance and fitment factor. In such a situation, the most waiting for the employees is about the fitment factor. To increase it for a long time, the employees have put a demand in front of the government. It is expected that the government can also consider increasing the fitment factor.

Why is the fitment factor important?

Significantly, the fitment factor plays an important role in the basic salary of central employees. Pay matrix has been made in the 7th pay commission, in them the salary is fixed on the basis of fitment factor. Revised basic pay is calculated from the old basic pay. In the last Pay Commission report, many important recommendations were given in the fitment factor. But, the fitment factor was also kept in 3 categories in it. At present, the employees are getting the fitment factor at the rate of 2.57 times.

  • If the fitment factor is 3.68 times in the 8th Pay Commission, then the minimum pay scale will be 26,000.
  • Actually, the basic salary of a central employee is Rs 18,000, then his salary excluding allowances will be 18,000 X 2.57 = Rs 46,260.
  • But, if the fitment factor is 3.68, the salary will be 26000 X 3.68 = Rs 95,680.
That is, it is clear that Level-1 employees will get a benefit of Rs 49,420.

When will the 8th pay commission be implemented?

Now the question is when will the 8th pay commission come? Experts have different arguments regarding this. Government sources say that the government will no longer consider the next pay commission, while experts believe that it is not possible to do so.

There is still time for the 8th Pay Commission to come. Before the year 2026, elections are also to be held in the year 2024. In such a situation, the central government will not make any such mistake, which will disappoint the employee voters. Therefore it is certain that the next pay commission will come and it will be implemented by January 1, 2026.
