8th Pay Commission Latest Updates: The Finance Ministry has announced the filling of 35 posts for the 8th Pay Commission. According to a circular issued on 17 April 2025, the Finance Ministry has proposed to fill 35 posts on deputation basis in the 8th Central Pay Commission.
8th Pay Commission: The government has also started taking steps to implement the 8th Pay Commission as soon as possible. The new pay commission is expected to increase the income and pension of 47.85 lakh central government employees and 68.62 lakh pensioners. Apart from this, state government employees can also get its benefit after the approval of the 8th Pay Commission by the Center.

Employees have been said to be appointed on these posts for the period from the date of formation of the 8th Pay Commission till the closure of the Commission.
What is in the circular?
The circular issued by the Finance Ministry states that appointments in the 8th Pay Commission will be made as per the regular norms fixed by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) from time to time. You are requested to circulate this circular among the concerned officers and personnel in your department. The circular further states that the employees applying should send the performa along with the necessary documents. It is necessary to send the application to the address of the Ministry of Finance through proper medium.
What changes can be made in the 8th Pay Commission?
According to ClearTax, some important changes can be seen in the 8th Pay Commission, which includes everything from basic salary to allowances. According to the report, the fitment factor in the new pay commission can be increased from 2.57 to 2.85. This is expected to increase the minimum basic salary of employees.
Apart from this, Dearness Allowance (DA) can be included in the basic salary after the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission. Also, House Rent Allowance (HRA) and Travel Allowance (TA) will also be re-fixed on the basis of the new basic salary.
