Now in the meantime, news has come out that with the implementation of the Eighth Pay Commission, there will be a change in the calculation of HRA. Let us know about the calculation of HRA through the news.
8th Pay Commission: With time, now the discussions about the 8th Pay Commission have become very intense. When the 8th Pay Commission is implemented after the tenure of the Seventh Pay Commission ends, then there will be an increase in the salary of the employees.
With the implementation of every pay commission, many things change along with the salary structure and it also has a direct impact on the rates of HRA i.e. house rent allowance. Now in the meantime, it is being told that this time there is going to be a change in the calculation of HRA. Let us know about the updates related to the Eighth Pay Commission.
How do HRA rates change?
For information, let us tell you that whenever a new pay commission is implemented, the rates of HRA i.e. House Rent Allowance are revised with it. Earlier, in the 6th Pay Commission, the rates of HRA were 30 percent (X city), 20 percent (Y city), 10 percent (Z city). After that, when the 7th Pay Commission revised these allowances, these rates were fixed at 24 percent, 16 percent, 8 percent.
How much can HRA rates increase?
However, after that, as soon as the DA of central employees reached 50 percent, then again HRA was increased to 30 percent, 20 percent, and 10 percent. That is, if seen, the rates of HRA have a direct link with DA and basic pay.
Because of this, whenever the 8th Pay Commission is implemented, the HRA rates will be reviewed by the government once again according to the basic pay and DA structure.
How much will HRA increase with the new calculation
If we talk about the fitment factor, then the fitment factor can be increased up to 1.92 in the 8th Pay Commission. That is, a plan has been made to fix the new pay base by multiplying the existing basic salary of the employee by 1.92. We explain it to you through an example.
For example, if the basic salary of central employees is Rs 30,000 right now, then the new salary will be Rs 30,000 × 1.92 = Rs 57,600. In such a situation, the calculation of HRA will also be decided on the new basic, due to which the HRA amount will also increase.
Due to this reason HRA rates are revised
Inflation and rent increase
You must be wondering why HRA rates are revised, then let us tell you that with inflation the rent also increases, to balance which the government increases HRA.
Change in Basic Pay Structure
Along with this, there is a change in the Basic Pay Structure after the Pay Commission. The old HRA rates do not fit on the new base, so they are also revised.
Change in the category of cities
Apart from this, the list of X, Y and Z cities is updated from time to time by the government, which affects HRA (HRA kya hai). If the category of a city changes, then it directly affects the HRA of the employees there.
Will the rate of HRA change in the new Pay Commission?
Experts have also given their opinion on this. Experts say that there is a possibility that the HRA rates may change in the new pay commission. Whenever there is a new pay commission, the HRA rates are revised along with it.
At present, the HRA was 30 percent, 20 percent, and 10 percent, but now it is being told that it can be revised and will be linked with DA. This will benefit the employees (HRA revised profit) that along with the increase in the money in the hands of the employees, there will be a provision for its revision when DA becomes 25 percent and 50 percent. Which is also there at present.
