7th Pay Commission Latest News: The government has given the gift of DA hike to the central employees in the last days. With this announcement, the government increased the DA from 31 percent to 34 percent. DA arrears were also approved by the Finance Ministry. Now the employees are waiting for the DA to be increased in July.

DA hike not expected in July

Let us tell you that the Dearness Allowance (Mehngai Bhatta) of Central Government Employees is revised twice a year. The first revision is from January to June. The second is from July to December. The first DA revision has been announced in March. It will be revised again in July. Meanwhile, the figures of dearness allowance have started coming. From the data released so far, it seems that there is little possibility of increase in the next dearness allowance. Just now the data of January and February AICPI index has come. These are showing a decline in comparison to December 2021.

How much did the AICPI figure drop?

In December 2021, the AICPI figure stood at 125.4. In January 2022, it fell by 0.3 points to 125.1. After this, there was a decline of 0.1 points in February also. Due to the two consecutive months of decline, it is feared that there may hardly be an increase in dearness allowance in July. If this figure goes even below this, then there will be no increase in DA. DA can be kept constant even if it goes below 124.

This is how AICPI figures are decided

The All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI) figures are decided by the Ministry of Labor and Employment on the basis of retail prices collected from 317 markets located in 88 industrially important centers of the country. The index has been prepared for 88 centers and for the entire country. This data of AICPI is released on the last working day of every month.
