This upcoming revision will be the last under the Seventh Pay Commission. The DA revision is based on the All India Consumer Price Index (CPI). The government calculates the average CPI of 12 months to decide the salary hike.

DA Hike: Important news for central employees and pensioners. It is reported that the Modi government may announce a hike in the salary of its employees and pensioners before Rakshabandhan. Let us tell you that in the last hike done earlier this year, DA increased from 53% to 55%. Now some media reports are quoting sources that another revision is going to be made in it. It will be announced soon.

3% hike in dearness allowance

The government may soon announce a 3% hike in dearness allowance for July 2025. If this happens, the current dearness allowance will increase from 55% to 58%. This announcement is expected before Rakshabandhan. Employees and pensioners will get the revised amount by October. Dearness Allowance is revised twice a year.

What is the detail

This upcoming revision will be the last under the 7th Pay Commission. The DA revision is based on the All India Consumer Price Index (CPI). The government calculates the 12-month average CPI to decide the pay hike, adjusting the salary according to inflation and cost of living.

7th Pay Commission

Although the government has not made any official announcement yet, financial experts and employee unions are widely expecting a 3% DA hike. The DA hike has a direct impact on the total salary of central government employees. For example, if an employee’s basic salary is Rs 10,000 and DA is 55%, he currently gets Rs 5,500 as DA. If the government increases it to 58%, the amount becomes Rs 5,800.
