7th Pay Commission: After increasing the dearness allowance of central employees, now it is going to start in the states. First of all, dearness allowance (DA payment) can be paid in Uttar Pradesh. 16 lakh employees and 12 lakh retired pensioners of Uttar Pradesh can get new Dearness Allowance (DA Hike) in May 2022. His dearness allowance (DA Hike) is to be increased by 3 percent. The state government has started preparations for the DA hike. Employees will get the benefit of Dearness Allowance (DA) from the month of May itself.
Salary will be paid in March, Arrear will also be available
Now state employees will also get 34 percent DA of basic salary. Till now 31 per cent is being paid. DA was increased to 31 percent in November 2021 itself. According to the 7th Pay Commission, the increased dearness allowance will be considered applicable from January 2022. State employees will also be given DA arrears of 4 months. All payments are expected to be made with the salary for March. If sources are to be believed, this step of the state government will increase the additional burden of Rs 1000 crore on the exchequer.
This time there will be no delay in DA
After increasing the dearness allowance of central employees in July 2021, it was implemented in the state in November 2021. Due to such a long wait, a little displeasure was seen among the state workers. Therefore, this time there is no delay in implementing DA. Sources say that the Finance Department has started preparations for this. Work on this is going on with the Personnel Department. It can be announced in the beginning of May. After this, it will be paid along with the salary in the end.
DA increased to 34 percent in Uttar Pradesh too
Let us tell you, under the 7th Pay Commission, DA is given to the employees in the states to improve the cost of living amidst rising inflation on the lines of the Center. State employees and pensioners are currently being paid DA and DR at the rate of 31%. The central government has increased the dearness allowance of central employees to 34 percent from January 2022. It has been announced in March and payment has also started. Now after the increase of 3 per cent in the states also, DA will be increased from 31% to 34%.
DA’s gift is given twice
Employees get DA twice a year. According to the rules, the first dearness allowance is implemented in January and the second time in July. But, even after the announcement by the Center, it is implemented with delay at the state level. Employees’ unions and pensioners have protested on this many times. Along with this, an appeal has also been made that they should also get the benefit of increased dearness allowance along with the center.
