7th pay commission: If the demand is approved, there will be a bumper increase in the salary of central government employees.


After giving an increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) to the 7th pay commission employees in the month of September, once again the salary of the central government employees is likely to increase in the new year. The government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Modi) at the center can give a new year gift to the employees of the central government. If reports are to be believed, the Modi government is preparing to increase the House Rent Allowance (HRA) of central government employees in January 2022.

In this regard, the Union Finance Ministry has started discussions on implementing the House Rent Allowance (HRA) of more than 11.56 lakh employees. It was learned that a proposal in this regard has been sent to the Railway Board for approval. If this proposal is approved, then the employees will get the increased HRA in January 2022. Indian Railway Technical Supervisors Association and National Association of Railways are demanding implementation of HRA from January 1, 2021. If the demand is approved, there will be a bumper hike in the salaries of central government employees.

Central government employees should be aware that HRA is a salary component which is being paid by the employer to the employees for the accommodation cost of living in that city. However, in all cases employers decide the HRA amount to be paid based on criteria like salary structure, salary amount and city of residence.

Calculation of HRA

For Central Government employees, HRA is not less than Rs 5400, Rs 3600 and Rs 1800 for X, Y and Z cities, calculated at the rate of 30 per cent, 20 per cent and 10 per cent of the minimum wage of Rs 18,000. Is. The HRA payment for X, Y and Z cities is 24%, 16% and 8% respectively.
