7th pay commission: Dearness allowance is going to increase by 3%. Now employees and pensioners will get Dearness Allowance (DA Hike) and Dearness Relief (DR Hike) at the rate of 34%.

7th pay commission: There is good news for central government employees and pensioners. Dearness allowance is going to increase by 3%. Now employees and pensioners will get Dearness Allowance (DA Hike) and Dearness Relief (DR Hike) at the rate of 34%. According to the year 2001 on the basis of AICPI Index, the Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers, there has been a decrease of one point in the index for December 2021.

With this the index has gone up to 361 points. The 12-month index average for dearness allowance is 351.33. On this average index, 34.04% dearness allowance is made. But, dearness allowance is given in round figure only. In such a situation, a total of 34% dearness allowance is set to be received from January 2022.

Announcement may be made in the cabinet meeting of March 16

At present, 31% dearness allowance is already being received. From January 2022, the benefit of 3% more dearness allowance will be available. Now the total dearness allowance has become 34%. According to the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission, dearness allowance is paid on the basic salary. It is expected that this can be announced in the cabinet meeting to be held on March 16.

At present, the government is not announcing it due to the model code of conduct for the election. This decision of the government will benefit more than 50 lakh central employees and 65 lakh pensioners. Now the next dearness allowance will be calculated in July 2022.

DA will increase even after the fall in December AICPI-IW

There was a slight decline in the data of AICPI-IW (All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers) for December 2021. In December, it fell 0.3 points to 125.4 points. In November, this figure was at 125.7 points. But, this has not affected the increase in dearness allowance. After the figures of AICPI IW of the Labor Ministry, it is clear that this time the dearness allowance will increase by 3 percent.

Central employees will also get 2 months arrears

The basic salary of central employees ranges between Rs 18,000 to Rs 56,900. If the new dearness allowance of 34 per cent is calculated on the maximum basic salary of Rs 56,900, then the DA of Rs 19,346 per month is made. At the same time, the payment that has been made so far has been made at the rate of 31 percent to Rs 17,639 per month.

Meaning that the dearness allowance has increased by Rs 1,707 per month in the DA of the employees. On an annual basis, this increase will be Rs 20,484. 2 months arrears are to be received in the month of March. In such a situation, if the calculation is done, then an employee will also get Rs 38,692 as arrears.
